What is NLCIUS?
The Dutch implementation of the European EN 16931 standard. An e-invoice that follows NLCIUS follows EN 16931 with Dutch business rules, and Peppol BIS 3.0 is the usual way to carry it.
Must I send e-invoices to the government?
No. Public bodies must accept them, but nothing obliges you to send one. If you do, Peppol is the common route.
Is business-to-business e-invoicing mandatory?
No. It runs on mutual consent, and the official EU country file records no plans for a mandate.
